If you already have an idea for the shape of your arrow, you can simply draw it out by holding down the Alt key (Option key on Macs) and selecting Make a Shape from the Shape Tools options. Alternatively, you can use the Brush tool, which has a wide variety of shapes to choose from. To make an arrow, use any of the previously-demonstrated methods. You can also quickly create an arrow with a few clicks using one of the preset vector shapes included in this pack. The arrow used in this tutorial is a simple line with a rounded tip, which I created using the Pen tool. You can save your illustration as a PNG file. The outline of the arrow will remain black, while the tip colour changes to match the main colour of the arrow. You can easily change the colour of the arrow using any of the standard Photoshop tools, such as the Hue/Saturation or Color Picker. You can use a wide variety of colours, like this cartoonish green. If you’ve used the Pen tool, you’ll know how to create a smart brush that follows the contour of your path. Simply choose the Pen tool, and draw your arrow shape. Once you’ve done this, all that’s left to do is enable the smart brush settings for your new Brush. For example, choose to turn on the Smart Brush options: When you’re happy with the shape, hit the Alt key (Option key) to draw the tip of the arrow. Once the arrow is finished, it looks like this: Create arrows using the drawing tools If you have some basic design skills, you can use the various drawing tools to quickly create an arrow.
